1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the SnapMyMed app and this website. It covers information used to provide account sessions, medicine and supplement lookups, saved items, reminders, and subscription access.
2. Accounts and information you provide
You may use SnapMyMed through an anonymous account created with Supabase. You may also choose to protect or sign in to an account with an email address and password. Account data is stored using Supabase.
Depending on how you use the app, SnapMyMed may store:
- an account identifier and session information;
- saved scan results and scan history;
- favorites and reminders;
- health profile information you choose to enter;
- subscription entitlement state and billing-related metadata provided by RevenueCat; and
- basic technical data required to operate application services.
3. Images and scan results
When you scan with the camera or choose an image from your photo library, that image may be sent for lookup or processing. SnapMyMed does not store the captured image itself in scan history. The product result returned from a scan may be saved to your account and history.
Camera and photo-library access are used only when you choose those features and are subject to the permissions on your device.
4. How information is used
SnapMyMed may process information to:
- create and maintain account sessions;
- look up medicines and supplements and present available results;
- save scan history, favorites, profile information, and reminders;
- show the subscription access associated with your account;
- maintain security, reliability, and essential app operations; and
- respond to a support request you choose to make.
5. Services and data sources
SnapMyMed may use Supabase for account and data services, RevenueCat for subscription entitlement information, and Google Gemini for relevant presentation or processing flows. SnapMyMed may also use information from RxNorm, DailyMed, openFDA, NIH DSLD, and Open Beauty Facts where applicable to a lookup.
These providers do not necessarily receive every request. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply when their services are used.
6. Reminders and notifications
Reminder records may be saved with your account. Reminder notifications are scheduled and delivered through your device. You can control notification permission in the app or your device settings.
7. Retention
Information is generally kept for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account and saved content, meet legitimate operational needs, or comply with applicable obligations. Retention may vary by the type of information and the service involved. Account deletion removes or de-identifies account information as required, subject to limited records that may need to be retained for legal, security, or transaction purposes.
8. Security
SnapMyMed uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Keep your device and sign-in details protected, and use a unique password if you add email and password access.
9. Your choices and account deletion
You can manage saved history, favorites, reminders, and profile details through the app where those controls are available. You can initiate deletion of your account directly from within the app. Deleting the app from a device does not by itself delete an account.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as SnapMyMed changes or as legal requirements evolve. The “Last updated” date will show when this policy was revised.
